As a photographer, having the privilege to photograph the maintenance train of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) was not just an assignment; it was a remarkable opportunity that filled me with pride. This experience allowed me to delve deeper into the intricate rules, rich history, and operational dynamics of train systems that are essential for keeping New York City on the move. The 7 train, in particular, is my lifeline, connecting me to my workplace, friends, and the weekend adventures that lie ahead.

This initiative aims to inspire the next generation of MTA leaders by engaging interns passionate about transportation history and improving New York City's transit system. In partnership with the City University of New York (CUNY), the MTA offers this unique opportunity for CUNY students, providing invaluable real-world experiences while inviting fresh ideas to shape the future of transportation in the city.
